(Child) Baptism*6 April 1787 Martha MEAKING was baptised on 6 April 1787 at Greasley, NTT, Martha d. Gregory & Sarah MEAKIN.2
Research*6 April 1787 Research: I now have a different set of parents for Martha Meakin.

Christened: 6 Apr 1787 Place: Greasley, Nottingham, England
Parents:
Gregory Meakin, Sarah Rawson

instead of:

14 Apr 1785, Joseph Meakin & Elizabeth Gregory

So why make the new choice?
Family of Gregory and Sarah Meakin is more compelling as it is tied together with marriage entris where they are witmesses - e.g. to Phylis & Thomas Clifton's cousin Lydia Meakin (father: George, also father of Martha)

Yes, this might make this Martha rather young when she married, but having reviewed the supporting evidence it outweighs this. Her burial date was also out by 2 years - not unknown - now correct for her age.

Also supported by DNA matches which I could not otherwise account for ... (including distant Rawson matches)

There is more mileage in Gregory Meakin & Sarah Rawson - as another child of theirs (John Meakin, 1785) marries Elizabeth Clifton - Samuel's sister!

John Meakin also a signatory at Martha's marriage.

Research* Research: I'm becoming a little convinced that this was the child of Joseph and Julia Ann (marriage proves that). Presumably they could not cope and another family relation (her deceased husband's brother) agreed to take her on.

The "Hetty" name comes and goes, Emma mainly stays (as a second name).
Her father being stated on her 1919 marriage as "Joseph Mee" was a clincher for me.

I could use some evidence of the "niece" relation between this John Fisher (Hetty Emma's "uncle") and the Charles Fisher who married Julia, to prove the statements in the census.

Emma would have been a recipient of the "Estate of Jo Bingham deceased" as she survived past 1927. I think the fact that Julia died in 1887 (and she is named as the contact in 1927) meant that no-one knew much about Julia Ann's family at the time and least of all about Emma as she left the family home before the age of 8.

(born respectively 1884, 1886 and 1882 Emma was the eldest of the 3 but presumably put at the bottom as she was not a boy.
Note that Ann their eldest was baptised earlier).1

Research1891 Research: at 1 Conway Street, Nottingham, NTT, The link with "Emma" comes in 1911 when she is named as "Hettie Emma Mee"

If this is true, the "Fisher" connection would have been from (Hettie) Emma's mother who previously married a Fisher (but named a Mee and born after the Mee marriage was not a niece by blood to any Fisher).3
