Anecdote* | 1994 | One brother [Wilfred?] had sinus trouble, and found it affected him underground because of the pressure. He worked on the surface. Left the pits, and went to work in Summercoates at Airlex(?), which became Viella (floor & wall coverings etc.), but is now a large warehouse. He was presented with a watch for long service, then a fortnight later was made redundant! Still working now, aged 65.14 |
