The President next addressed the candidates in the words of the Ordination Service, and they, in response to the usual questions, expressed belief that they were "inwardly moved by the Holy Ghost" to the office and work of the Christian ministry; and that the Holy Scriptures contain all doctrine necessary for salvation. They further assented to the Methodist doctrine and discipline, and said they were resolved to be faithful. On the invitation of the President, the congregation now joined in silent prayer. The President, the ex-President and Secretary of the Conference, with the Revs John Farrar and Dr. Jobson, then proceeded to ordain, by imposition of hands, the first group of young ministers. ... The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper having been administered to the ministers just ordained, the ex-President (Rev. L.H. Wiseman M.A.) ascended the pulpit, and addressed to them a charge founded on 1st Timothy, chap. 1 verse 14 - "Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, and the laying on of the hands of the presbytery." The delivery of the charge lasted an hour and twenty minutes, and not only was the deepest attention shown throughout by the entire congregation, but several times audible expression was given to their approval. The following is an outline of what was said : - ...(several hundred words of speech)... The ex-President concluded with a very powerful exhortation to the newly ordained ministers. A similar service was held at the same hour in Sans Street Chapel, Sunderland where the charge was delivered by the Rev. Dr. James (another list of young ministers who were ordained).16 |

Stuart and his Uncle Albert Edward died during his lifetime also leaving three children Alan James, Wilfred James and Geoffrey James and therefore each of those beneficiaries shares equally in the share of the estate which his or her parent would have received had they survived the late Mr. Kingswood giving them a one eighteenth share each.
