Research* Research:Put together a theory that Charles married Mary Jane Longden. Charles died, and she then remarried George Bingham, son of Edward Bingham (and hence Charles' half-nephew). But - is this the case?
More evidence - Charles is not in the estate of Joseph Bingham - John Henry is, as a full 1/11 share, more than his half-siblings (his father was the brother of the deceased, their father was the grandson).
John Henry is living in 1891 next to a Herbert Longden, who is probably a cousin of his Mother's...
So all evidence indeed seems to stack up quite nicely.

Right place, right name, close call on age, but we have found "ours" in 1939, so this death unlikely.10
Research29 September 1939 Research:This is possibly the same pair, but not clear, as "Barney" and "Herbert" are different names, and he is different age from that stated in 1901 & 1911.
Profession may just fit - a horse keeper, coachman & carman fits with stableman.

If "Berney's" birth registration matches the date above, I'll be happy to settle for this being OK.

It is. I'm cool.3

Researchbetween 1 July 1842 and 30 September 1842 Research: at R.D. SouthwellA Thomas Bingham (unrelated? bn 1817 Sutton-on-Trent)= Mary Walker in Southwell - so 2 families are producing children at the same time, with same other surname, birth in R.D. Southwell..

This Thomas = Mary found in Sutton-on-Trent in 1851 had:
Frederic 1841 (before their marriage)
John Thomas 1844
William 1846
Henry 1848
Maria Walker 1850

1861:
Thomas 1817 = Mary 1820
Maria Wlaker 1850
Richard Cock 1852
George 1855
(Robert b. 1857 died Q2 1857)
Mary 1858
David 1860

So those are not Edward's.

They could have had both Williams ... due to dates, I assume that Edward's family also had a William, who then died.

Must have been born to Thomas' family, as birth is too close to Edward (son of Edward) for it to be his.

Why name the father as Charles at the baptism? his mother is married to George by then, and Charles had died before his possible conception (in 1870, not 1872). Curious! Perhaps the vicar remembered Mary Jane and entered the name of her previous husband rather than the one in front of him ...?5
